My 10 year old son has an iron absorbtion deficiency to which he takes feramax supplement, he has been lowered to 3 a week recently, he has very low energy levels but now after taking the supplement has a good appetite again, he is still underweight but has put half a pound on the last time he saw the peadiatrician but in the last couple of months he has been needing to rush to the toilet as soon as he eats anything and his stools are very flaky to the point where they fly around the toilet seat, they are dark due to the iron. The rushing to the toilet is causing problems as when we have to leave the house he will not use a public toilet, have you any ideas what may be causing the frequency and consistency of his bowel movements?
