Child Has Jaundice. Diagnosed With Hepatitis A Infection. Yellow Tint In Corner Of Sclera. Next Step?
respected my 11 yrs old male child got jaundice and tested on 13th of august 2013. his bil (total) was 6 and SGPT was 3600 (against 40). HEP B and C were negative and was labelled as a case of Hep A (not tested for A and E). At that time he was very weak and his BP was 70/40 and RBS was 60 doctors in A/E gave him Ringers and 100ml 10% d/w. after that he improved a lot gradually and now after 3 1/2 wks he is now compleltely symptomless no abd discomfort good appetite and slightly yellow urine.i repeated the LFT test yesterday and the results are SGPT 70 and Tbil 2.0 plz advise me what should be my next step the child is completely ok but have slight yellow tint at the corner of sclera. thanks a lot for helping me

dear user your child suffered from hepatitis A , a kind of viral infection of liver . the treatment given to him is well . your child is now in recovery phase . the steps u need to take are as follows
1. appropriate diet . 2. continue liver tonic or liv -52 once in a day . 3. increase fluid intake. 4. repeat LFT after one month . 5. after 2 month when your child get complete cure you should consult your doctor for hepatitis A vaccination.
