Child Has Peeling Skin On Fingers And Feet After Swimming In Pool. Due To Allergy?

Within 1 day of jumping in our swimming pool for 5 minutes, my son has peeling skin on his fingers and feet. I am cinvinced that he has an allergy to some chemical in the pool because this happens every year, but his pediatrician did not agree. I've tried anti-fungals, heavy duty moisturizers, rinsing off, etc... Nothing helps.

Hi Thanks for using HCM,
According to your history, Kindly check whether your swiming pool is being chlorinated. If so there may be chemical reaction.
If he is suffering from allergic rhinites or asthma or dermatitis due to allergy the chance of allergic reaction is more. To confirm whether he has allergy to most common allergens you can get done skin prick test and can treat for that allergen.
Since the peeling occurs only in skin fingers and sole and there are no other symptoms this may not be allergy. So kindly consult the dermatologist once to get examined and for treatment.

Thank you,
Regards
