Child Has Red Mark On Spine, No Pain. Cause?
My 3 year old son has a quarter size red mark on his lower spine right on the vertebra. He did not fall or have any trauma to that area and says it hurts. It's not a bruise but it does fade in and out. I initially thought it was due to car seat pressure but it had gotten deep red today without any use of carseat or sitting in any chairs really at all. His spine seems to be inline and nothing seems out of place.

If the spot is not hurting your son then I suggest that you wait and watch. In case it increases or causes any problem then it would be advisable to get it examined. It is very difficult to give and cause for it without having a look at the lesion.
