Child Has Red Nose, Cold, Burning Sensation In Cheeks, Swelling In Lips, Eye Pain, Possible Staph Infection. Treatment?
My 4 year old son woke up three days ago with a red nose. I thought it was because he had a cold. Then he started to say his cheecks burned. His cheecks where red along with his nose and upper lip. He wanted a wet cool rag for his face. Then he became swollen his lips are huge. I took him to the doctor and one doctor says it's a staff infection. I took him to another doctor and they told me it looks like an allergic reaction. Now my son is complaining that his eye hurt. Ok so he has swollen lips and cheecks he's very red. His face burns. And now his eyes hurt.
Hi Dear welcome to the HCM Most probably, this is infection. It is painful and spreading fast
Allergic lesions are usually are itchy which is less likely the cause.
One should immediately start some antibiotic and antiinfllammatory and analgesic medicine to check its spread. Nose tip and the area below its tip (mid of upper lip)is supposed to be quite dangerous as it is directly connected to the cavernous sinus in the brain. Infection easily may spread to the brain, which can be disastrous. Hope the query is answered. Thanks
