Child Has Stomach Ache. Heating Pad Does Not Help. Has No Appetite. Guidance?

My daughter has a tommy ache for a day now. The pain comes and goes and is very intense at time. What releases the pain is gently but fast pace tommy rubbing. Drinking warm herbal tea does not help either does a heating pad on her abdomen . She has no appetite , wants lots of attention and is very tired. She is 7 years old and very healthy otherwise.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Which part of her stomach is aching?

Any history of loose stools, vomitings, or burning micturition?

Is she having constipation?

Kindly provide the above information to advise you in a better way.

But this type of pain is common in children and she needs physical examination by a Pediatrician and basic investigations like ultrasound abdomen, complete urine examination and a detailed diet history to rule out any pathological cause of pain abdomen.

In most children without the other symptoms and with normal clinical findings on examination, the pain is due to chronic pain abdomen where there is no underlying any organic pathology.

Therefore I advise you to consult your Pediatrician for the examination and for basic investigations.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Hello Madam
Hope you are doing good.
Often children complain of pain in abdomen, heating pads on her abdomen wont help her.
there are many causes of pain , GERD , gastritis , intestinal colic , bilary colic , ureteric colic, peptic ulcer, is she de wormed ? etc.
With these complains often they have low oral intake. Focus on her proper diet and notice when does she have the pain after or before eating. she need to to be examined properly with detail history.
I Hope have answered the question.
