Child Having Excessive Burping Post Accidentally Swallowing Of A Penny, Feeling Of Penny In Throat. Should I Take Him To Doctor?

healthy three yr old swallowed penny 5 days ago, started burp barfing like acid reflux today (day 5), says he can feel penny in throat?? Take him in or wait?

It is essential that you take your child immediately to the Emergency Room (ER) as most pennies contain zinc which is highly corrosive.


This can cause damage to the food pipe if it is lodged there.


Please take him immediately to the ER where they will take an X-ray to find out where exactly the coin is stuck and remove it.
