Child Having Inflamed Tonsils, Leg Pain High Fever, Taking Antibiotics, No Relief With Leg Pain. Advice?

Hi, my daughter, 6 years of age, has had inflamed tonsils and high fevers since Sunday. The GP prescribed antibiotic (orelox jnr) and painkiller (mybulen). Child has complained of leg pain since Monday and is unable to walk as she says it s too painful (thighs and calves). The painkiller has no effect on the leg pain, which is consistent. Please advise what this could be.

Hi Chantalgza,
Thanks for writing your query.

Fever can result in pain in muscles known as myalgia.
This occurs due to biochemical changes in muscles due to fever.

You can do hot fomentaton on her legs in addition to the medicines she is taking. This will help in decreasing pain in her legs.

Encourage her to take complete rest. This will help her to recover soon.
Also give her healthy diet including fresh fruits and vegetables.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
