Child Having Power In Eye. Increasing Every Six Months. Ways To Stop The Increasing Power?
Hi Subject: My daughter (10 years old) eye power is being increased by .5 every 6 months. We discovered our daughter s eye power at the age of 8 years,since then eye power is getting increased by .5 every 6 months.Her maternal grand father and mother have enough eye power too. Your daughter has myopia ( short sightedness) which is expected to increase till 20-21 years of age. This is because her eyeball is increasing in length with age and will only stabilize once she is in her twenties. There is nothing that can be done to prevent the eyeball growth or the power as it is genetically determined. Once she is above 18 years of age she can under corrective laser eye surgery if she is found to be fit as it will be a permanent option.
