Child Having Prolonged Fever, Cough. Temporary Relief With Amoxicillin, Auegmentin. Fever Not Subsiding. Worried?
Respected doctor..my son 3year6month old having fever and cough since one month.having throat infection ..as per doctor amoxicillin given..after the course finish fever subside..but after 2days again fever started.tem.37.5 to 38.8. Range. As per Dr. Advise Auegmentin. Given for 5 days..baby was ok. Only slight cough was there..it was dry cough.sleeping time. Continuous cough and not getting enough sleep. After 2wks again high fever nd cough startedCBC..checked. . wbc ..normal. doctor told it is viral only..there is slight wheezing present. Give syphilis .adolescent andventolin nebulization...and syp.brikanil. but now 9days there is no relief in fever.but cough little better.after giving syp.adol..fever subside. But sound 8hours again fever coming. Till 38.5.. if no fever baby active.body wt..now 17.5kg. Befor around 18.5kg. Iambic really worried..doctors telling its viral only...no need of antibiotic..but this fever. Long time. I am worried..please given a helpful advise.thanking you...

as you have already given course of oral antibiotics and there is not much improvement i suggest you to get her properly investigated get her x ray chest done he may need injectables. give him plenty of warm fluids.

As there is still fever some basic investigations like CBP,Malarial Parasite, Widal test , Chest x ray and CUE.
So discuss with your doctor regarding your concerns and plan accordingly. If the problem still persist take a second opinion.

hello, this is very long time so you should add antibiotics with antipyretics syrup. i advice you use cefixime syrup 5ml/50mg , 5 ml twice a day for 5-7 days with cough syrup levosalbutamol combination.
