Child Is Pale. Has Dark Circles Under Eyes And Sleeplessness. Advice?

I have a 4 year old daughter who is pale and have extremely dark circles under her eyes. She isnt sleep at night either. She wakes up in the middle of the night crying and wont go back to sleep for about 3 hours. She has also had a recent change in attitude suddenly. Last thursday she was put to sleep at the dentist but these symptoms were prior to that. Shes doesnt seem to have alot of engery anymore. Please help!

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Kindly enlighten us on any recent change in the household/family which may be affecting your daughter's behaviour. Some of the changes could be:
1. Addition of a sibling.
2. School admission or change of school.
3. Change of neighbourhood.
4. Change of care giver.
We need to look into the reason for the change of your daughter's behaviour and addressing it may make her comfortable.

If your daughter is pale then a hematological work up is required and if she is anemic then hematinics can be started in consultation with the doctor.
