Hi Dr., My 4months old boy not passing stool daily. Some times he will pass alternate days or once in 3-4days.Is it normal? He is on breast feed(very less)&on formula feed. Please answer me.His birth weight was 2.900kg &now he is 7kg.
Dear parent
For babies to pass stool 3 to 4 times a day and once in 3 to 4 days is considered normal. What matters is the consistency of the stool which you have not mentioned. If the motion is soft then nothing to worry.
Secondly the babies on formula milk have more tendency to pass stool with few days gap.
As a remedy i would suggest you to increase the water intake of your son and add some fruit in his diet.Otherwise your son's weight is normal.
