Child Shows Viral Asthma Like Symptoms. Has Cold, Developed Cough. Pediatrician Advised Asthalin. Better Medicament?
Hi, My 2.5 years old child seems to be showing post viral asthma like symptoms for the past one year. His symptoms have gone worse over time. Whenever he catches cold, he develops a bad cough that gets worse at night. He sometimes vomit while coughing and feels uneasy. At times he sounds to be wheezing and falling short of breath. His cough usually gets worse after a week or so before lingering on for 1-2 weeks. He coughs mostly in the evening, night and the morning. At the recommendation of a pediatrician we started giving him 5 ml theo asthalin salbutamol once in the night whenever he catches cold and cough. This medicine helps him in the night, however it has started showing only limited results of late. It takes him close to 3 hours to stop coughing at frequent intervals. What does my child have and how can I treat or manage it? Is there any better medicine regime that I should follow? theo sathalin doesn't seem to be enough. Kindly suggest
