Child Suffering From Breathing Problems, Continuous Coughing. Prescribed Medicines. Hereditary?

Hello Doctor, My name is Venkatesh. My son aged 4yrs is facing some breathing problems like continuous coughing since 1year. When contacted a Paediatrician, he suggested Budesonide 100mcg (1shots/twice/day) and Levosalbutamol 50mcg(4shots/4times/day). The severity has come down. But again the coughing relapsed and the doctor increased the dose to Budesonide 100mcg (2shots/twice/day) and Levosalbutamol 50mcg(4shots/4times/day). He has suggested to give the medicine upto January and February. My father is an asthamtic patient. I myself has problems of wheezing . Is the problem hereditary. Will my son be cured in future.and which is the best doctor(Paediatrician)/hospital in Bangalore if I want to take a second opinion. Thank you.

hello venkatesh! it seems to be hereditary bronchial asthma your child is suffering from. its a condition that waxes and wanes with time and the doses need to be modified according to severity. don't be afraid of steroids as its relatively safe drug when given under recommended dosage and the dose can be reduced in future when the symptoms are controlled for a fair longer period and your child can be maintained on very low dose that may not ve any apparent side effect at all. your child is too young to predict if the child will be cured of this condition. but rest assured that if followed up properly ur child wil be no less than any other child in any field. i cant suggest any particular doctor at present but currently pediatric pulmonology is a fairly developed branch at least in cities like banglore. u can go to any good corporate hospital and seek advices.
