Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The salt ormeloxifene in Sevista is prescribed to control menorrhagia (excessive bleeding). However in your daughter's case menstruation may not be regular at this age and hence there will be occasional heaving bleeding. The drug should not be given regularly unless you are using it as a birth contraceptive.

It shall be better if you discuss with the doctor and have patience. With passage of time the menstrual periods will become regular and should not be heavy.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.
