Child With Cold, Hyper-mobility Syndrome, Has Swelling On Back That Pains On Pressing. Related?

just found my 6 year olds back looked like it had a swelling just above the hip i pressed it in it didnt hurt him,but he said it felt weird?he has got a cold a present and also he has hypermobility syndrome dont know if it something conected with this?hes not unwell but havent noticed this strange very slight swelling/lump?thankyou.

Hello there,

I believe the swelling is originating from the spinal region. You have not mentioned which hyper mobility syndrome is your child suffering from although there is no correlation with a swelling or lump.

Please get the swelling shown by a Surgeon. It needs to be ascertained whether there was any trauma sustained by your child or it was a lump that went unnoticed.

Certain points about the swelling need to be known like tenderness, mobility, any bleed or discolouration.

So kindly get a Surgery consultation for your child.
