Child With Fever And Vomiting. Diagnosed With UTI. Worried About Kidney Problems

Hi, my daughter is 2.5 yrs old and diagnosed with UTI last december 2012, since then we keep record of her urine routine examination every month, this month we found pus cell 0 - 3 normal range was 0 - 5 and epithelial cell 2-4 normal range was 0 - 5 now my question is , is this normal or are there any kidney problem? This month when we took the test she was suffering from fever which stayed 2 days and also she vomit 3 times on the first day.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The report which you have submitted is absolutely normal. It does not show evidence of infection. However, once in a while it is better to get urine culture and sensitivity done as the infection can be asymptomatic.

The present episode of fever and vomiting can be due to other causes like upper respiratory tract infection.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,
