Child With Lump On The Neck. No Pain. Worried About Cancer
Yes, my son has a small lump on his neck. Its hard and about 1.5 cm in size. It does not hurt him. said he noticed it about a week now. We went to doctor , he prescribed an antobiotic, but my son has not been sick. if it does not go away in 10 days , we have to get a biopsy. i'm really scared it is cancer. What do you think. Doctor said to my son that he was a puzzle for him today, not sure what it is!!

Hi dear,
You need not worry much about the lump. Its probably lymph node enlargement. Children don't get cancer most of the times as elders do. 95% of the chance is it will be not cancer. Biopsy will come mostly nonspecific lymphadenitis. It could be due to infections of head, mouth, head lice, dandruff etc.
