Child With Rashes Over Body. Applying Vaseline And Hydrocortisone, Taking Benadryl Did Not Help. Suggestions
Hi my name is Stacey my nine month old daughter has a bad rash over her body took her to the pediatrician last week and was told that she may have psoriasis they suggested that i apply vaseline, hydrocortizon 1% cream, and benadryl until she see a dermatologist, however i have been applying the cream for a week and the itch does not go away any suggestions?
Psoriasis is a very uncommon diagnosis in a 9 month old child. I suggest that instead of applying hydrocortisone ointment you just apply a hydrating lotion or oil/vaseline till you see a dermatologist. The hydrating lotion or oil should give some relief to the itching.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
