Chronic Diarrhea. Advised To Pay Attention To Trigger Food After Blood Test. Possible IBS?

Hi, my boyfriend has had chronic diarrhea for about 2 months now, I finally got him to go to the doctor and they took blood and told him to pay attention to what he eats to try and find trigger foods, and that was pretty much it. I've been trying to look online to maybe find something else and I've come to the conclusion that he probably has IBS-D is there anything the doctors can try to find to diagnose this? or anything else it might be?

HI
Thank for choosing HCM
It is normal if you go for toilet three to four time a day, consistency of stool is matter if it is solid or semi solid, then its OK, but if is watery containing mucus, blood, very little in quantity then it required attention, merely blood test wont give any clue, stool examination is must for right diagnosis, have nice day.
