Chronic Pancreatitis, Took Creon. Got Itching All Over The Body, Prescribed Zenpep. Is It Ok ?

I am 72 years old and I have chronic pancretitis. I took creon and got an iching all over my body, now my digestive disease doctor prescribe zenpep. I got a similiar bottle of creon at a health food store but i could not take that either. Now I would like to know if I can get a bottle similiar to zenpep at a helath food store because the zenpep is very expensive . My doctor said if I can get it at a health food store it was ok. What do you think

Hi,

"zenpep" basically is pancreatic enzymes and you may take any other pancreatic enzymes available in local store, its ok if you do not buy brand name, generic will work in same fashion.
