Clicking Sound In Neck While Moving In Certain Ways. Is This The Cause Of Concern?
I was rear ended while the car that I was driving was stopped at a red light. Everything seemed okay but, for the last week my neck has been making clicking sounds when I move it certain ways. Not all the time and not in the same direction - the clicking varies on differing movements. Is this normal and will it abate?
Hello, Thanks for writing to HCM, I have read your question, clicking sound in neck region is a normal symptom shown by everyone. It could occur due to change in weather or if you have calcium deficiency, sometimes keeping the head in one position for long can also cause this, I suggest you to take calcium rich diet like leafy vegetables and have milk twice a day and see that you don't keep your head in the same position for a long. This should work well for you. If the problem persists I suggest you to consult a general physician first state your medical history and take his suggestion, if still the problem persists I advise you to consult orthopedician nearby for further advice.
Wishing you a good health, Dr K Sanga Reddy
