Cold, Nasal Congestion, Throat Pain On Swallowing, Yellow Pus Pockets On Tonsils, Roof Of Mouth. Causes?
Yes. I have a head cold runny, congested nose , no cough . My throat hurts when I swallow . What I m confused about is I took a flashlight and looked at my tonsils and on one of my tonsils was white yellowish looking pus pockets and also one little white yellowish pus pocket on each side kinda on the roof of my mouth and the roof of my mouth itches so bad. What are those pus pockets and why do they making the roof of my mouth itch?
Hello dear...
Presence of pus pockets in the tonsils suggests that you might be having Acute Tonsillitis.
And the itching of the roof of your mouth may be attributed to post-nasal drip.
Management consists of:
1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain.
2. Antihistamines to control runny nose & itching of roof of mouth.
3. Analgesics like paracetamol
4. Antibiotics like amoxicillin to remove the causative organism of Tonsillitis.
So...it will be better to meet an ENT specialist & start the treatment.
There is no need to worry...you will be perfectly fine.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care.
