Cold, Strange Odor Of Hands. Taking Robitussin. Advise?
Hi, I've been having a cold since Friday evening. Taking robitussin every 4 hrs. Worse today than yesterday. My hands/fingers also smell strange, similar to the smell of food lying in garbage for a while/ odor in the back of a restaurant. This is the case, despite the fact that I'm constantly using hand sanitizer, washing my hands and showering regularly. Any advice or thoughts?
Hello Friend Welcome to H.C.M With little information and as per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with acute rhinosinusitis . in this condition there is a possibility of change in smell. (parosmia) you need to start broad spectrum antibiotic, antihistamnics and nasal decongestants for about a week. But still I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief after one week as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer. With best wishes for a speedy cure Yours sincerely The Health Caremagic Medical Team
