Constant Diarrhea, Stomach Cramps, Blood In Stools. Have Diabetes, Arthritis, Acid Reflux, Anxiety, Insomnia. Help

Hi, I have had constant diarreah for 4 days now. This is not normal for me. The past 2 days I have also had stomach cramps with it and blood in my stools. I am a 48 year old female with diabetes, arthritis in my lower back, neuropathy, acid reflux, anxiety and insomnia. I have lost 6 pounds since this horrible thing started. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Diarrhea of 4 days with blood in stool may be due to dysentery.
It requires antibiotics like norfloxacin with metronidazole combination.
Before starting antibiotics, stool to be given for routine, microscopy, ova and cysts, and culture and sensitivity.
Take plenty of oral fluids, oral rehydration solutions to maintain hydration.
Oral probiotics can be taken for 3 to 5 days.
Consult the physician for examination and for prescription of antibiotics, probiotic.

Hello,

Bloody diarrhea suggests that it may be due to bacterial infection.
You may need a stool routine test, stool culture and sensitivity test.
A course of antibiotics may be needed to treat the infection.
Rehydrate with ORS and water to balance the fluid loss.
