Constant Hissing Sound In Ear, Feeling Of Electric Shock In Teeth And Back Of Neck, Smelling Cigarette Smoke. Opinion?

I have a painful constant hissing sound in my left ear that isn't going away. It elevates at times and the ear feels hot and then it feels like little electrical shocks going through my teeth and into the back of my neck. I also keep smelling cigarette smoke for the past month. One night I woke up in the middle of the night due to the smell and thought someone might be outside my window. But now I smell it when the a/c kicks on at work and when i'm driving in my car.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

You are facing problems pertaining to different organs / tissues.
The hissing sounds in the ear is called tinnitus.
Tinnitus is a symptom of disease process of the inner ear.
Is it associated with feeling of fullness and/or vertigo?
If yes, it may be Meneire's disease.
You need to consult an ENT specialist for examination of the inner ear and hearing tests also.

Feeling of electric shock in the jaw suggests nerve involvement.
Involvement of nerves due to infection, inflammation can lead to tingling sensation or electric shock like feeling.

Altered olfactory sensation (smelling cigarette smoke) suggests involvement of olfactory nerve (nerve supplying the nasal mucosa).
Olfactory tests need to be done to test the olfactory function.

Consult your ENT specialist at the earliest.
All these symptoms could be manifestation of one disease process.

Thanks and take care
