Constant Smell Of Smoke In Nose, History Of Sinus Problems. Non Smoker. Why Is There Discomfort?
A bit of a strange one. Over the past 4 days I've had a constant smell in my nose of smoke similar to cigarette smoke. I am not a smoker and have not been in a smokey environment. I do have a history of sinus problems and am often bunged up. Could this be an infection of some sort? I do not have any pain nor discomfort but am still quite blocked up.
Hello,
There could be infection in sinuses, reflux disease(acidity / heart burn etc)
You must consult an ENT specialist and get done examination of nose and mouth and CT scan of nose and para nasal sinuses to rule out any disease in sinuses. The sinuses are not visible on examination so radiological investigation is required.
Once the nasal infections are ruled out and any dental caries is ruled out. you can go with treatment of reflux disease , whether you have apparant reflux or not there could be silent reflux , which you are not aware of.
