Constipated, Bloated And Uncomfortable In Stomach And Intestinal Area. Took Amoxicillin A Clarithromycin For Diarrhea And Intestinal Bacteria. Side Effects?
2 weeks ago, I was having terrible diarrhea. The doctor did some blood work and found some sort of intestinal bacteria. I took amoxicillen a clairethromyacin. After I felt better I began to have a terrible reaction to the clarithromycin...stomache cramping severely. Now after ive been off medicine for 2 days, I have had no bowel movements at all and I noticed my anklesrare swolen. I feel constipated, bloated and uncomfortabe in my stomache and intestinal area.
Well, there appears no correlation between swollen ankles & your other symptoms. Stop taking clarithromycin, if you are having allergic reaction to it.
Do stool (R & M) examination to look for the causative factor. Also do ultrasound of the whole abdomen & CBC. You haven't mentioned your age, urinary complaints if any..
Till the reports come, you may take antispasmodics, analgesics, stool softeners with your doctor's opinion. Drink plenty of fluids..preferably Oral Re-hydration Solution.
Wish you a speedy recovery. With warm regards. Thanks!
