he constipation is usually managed by taking purgatives available over the counter. As the time goes, it becomes habit forming & the drug stops giving relief. & in turn results in
chronic constipation.
Following life style changes help -
- Lot of fibers in food. (Fruits, salads, green vegetables, sprouts, asparagus, cabbage) Bran/Ispaghula may be added to increase the fibers.
- To avoid foods with no fibers like cakes, pasteries, pizza, icecreames & all fast foods
_ Consume Plenty of water/liquids (10- 15 glasses in a day.
have regular exersizes,45 minutes walk daily.
- Give sufficient, regular & fixed time for deification.
-Not to suppress urge to evacuate
Use pain relieving anal pessery for painful motion. Possibility of
anal fissure is there. This needs a regular treatment by a gastroenterologist along with sitz bath.
