Constipation, Stomach Pain, Vomiting. Should I Meet A Doctor?

Hi Dr., am typing in fairly severe pain going on 2 hrs., thought I was just constipated w/ bad belly ache, but ended up vomiting and finally having bowl movement. But pain is still here, strong. The pain sounds more like diverticulitis or abdom pain then appendicitis. Not sure if I'll be able to sleep tonight and thinking of seeing dr. tomorrow morn if pain doesn't stop. Am I on the right track? Should I consider an ER even?
Thanks in advance,
Daryle

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Daryle,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to:
1. Any infection in the Gastrointestinal tract.
2. Any obstruction in the Gastrointestinal tract.
3. Peptic ulcer

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of anti-spasmodics & anti-emetics, the underlying cause for the symptoms need to be treated.

So, kindly consult a Gastroenterologist & get a proper clinical examination done.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar levels, Ultrasound scan of abdomen & endoscopy will be helpful to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms.

Wishing a Good Health.
Take care
