Consumed Protein Drink After Work Out. Since Then Having Tightening Chest Back Throat. What Could It Be?
I just started working out. It was suggested that after my 1 hour session I drink a protein shake. So I bought whey protein powder and mixed it with water and drank it on my way home from the gym. 2 min later my chest became tight as well as my back and throat. It feels like a crushing weight on my upper body. What is the matter with me? It s 45 min later and it still hurts
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe it is a routine thing , you are doing it daily. It appears to be the closure of the gastroesophageal sphinctre. Some times it happens automatically, if some odd thing, like cool, hot, or spicy it closes as a safty measure. I hope you are all right by this time. If not consult a doctor for relief. I usually prescribe to my patients with such symptoms anaesthetic antacid to be chewed slowly over a period of one minute. Once it gt neutralised it is released. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
