Continuous Soreness In Forearm Muscles, Bruises On Inner Arm, Pain On Stretching Arms, No Injury. Does It Mean Torn Muscles?
55 year old female. Recently golfed for first time in over seven years. No problem other than extremely sore muscles in both forearms between wrists and elbows. That was on Saturday. Still sore, but woke yesterday morning (Monday) and have very large bruise that runs up my left inner arm from wrist halfway up arm -- also bruising around elbow. Have not bumped into anything or fallen or scraped it in any way. Could I have torn the muscles or something or broken vessels? The bruised area does not hurt but the muscles are still tender, especially when I try to fully extend my arms.
Hai,
1. Seems you have suffered a Golfer's elbow where the muscular attachments from the inner side of the elbow gets inflammed or sprained.
2. Sprain can cause such bruises. Are you on any anti-platelet or anti-thrombotic medications for any cardiac conditions? These medications can increase the bleeding tendency. If that is so, then with your cardiologist consultation you might need to drop one or few such medications for a week or 10 days till your pain is better.
3. Ice fomentation to the part can arrest further bruises from developing, can decrease pain also.
4. Crepe bandage can decrease swelling, rest to the part for say 2-3 weeks is essential like avoiding lifting weights, making fist etc.,
5. Taking NSAID's for few days can decrease your pain.
