Cough, Wheezing, Switched To Inhaler From Drops, Advised To Continue Inhaler. Any Side Effect?

My son is 7 months and weighs around 10.5 Kgs. He has been having Severe Cough which sounds like wheezing and was recently (one week ago) switched over to Inhaler from Drops/Tonic. Now he is normal but we were advised be his pediatrician to continue inhaler for a month and the come back for review. Now, our conern is that whether this will have any prolonged affect on the child? Will he have to use inhalers for his entire life.

Hi, thank you for posting.

All your child's symptoms come from a breathlessness road virus, it starts immediately and it is followed by fever and wheezing. In this case the treatment is inhaler. Your child doesn't have to use it for too long, because the illness is temporary. If the illness is caused again you should make an allergy test.
