Brief Answer:
Metronidazole does not cause
high blood pressure.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
Eventhough, Metronidazole may have a lot of side effects (nausea,
stomach upset, vomiting, headache, anorexia,
dizziness, pain with urination, mouth sores, tingling or pricking sensations, brain disease, seizures etc), high blood pressure is not one of them. The infection, for himself, cause a elevated metabolic stress in your body, which may aggravate the blood pressure.
Eventhough, this affects it a bit. This means that you should treat your blood pressure better, beside the treatment of infection.
Meanwhile the unpleasant
metallic taste may be caused by metronidazole usage. This may be associated with a sudden overgrowth of Candida which may occur during therapy.
You should see your treating doctor to change the antibiotic therapy or to add on any antimycotic drug such as nystatine.
Hope this is helpful.
