Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative that you are suffering from the side effects of Colistapal 5mg. Constipation is a common side effect. Your other symptoms are associated with constipation. Colistapal 5mg, is prescribed to lower cholesterol in the blood to prevent heart disease and arteriosclerosis.

You are advised to get clinically examined by your treating doctor, get lipid function tests and regular cardiac check done to rule out any developing CAD, coronary artery disease. If your lipid profile shows normal report, then you will be advised not to continue taking Colistapal 5mg.

You can switch to healthy eating habits and healthy lifestyle and maintain a normal cholesterol level. Prefer to take boiled food over fried, oily, junk food, take fiber in diet, take lean meat cooked in olive oil. Take well-cooked whole cereals, fruits, veggies, berries. Avoid taking refined flour, carbs and sugar. Stay away from full fat dairy products.

Do exercises, do walking in the morning and evening. Do not smoke, avoid alcohol or addictions if any. Take adequate quantity of water and fluids. If needed take laxatives to prevent constipation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
