Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had to have two iron transfusions as of recently, I believe could be caused by my use of Crestor. I am currently on Niaspan 1500mg and have been for a year and a half… just recently I was prescribed Crestor 6 months ago 5 mg and my hair started falling out and my ferritin levels were extremely low…I got off of Crestor and had two infusions in which my hair stopped falling out recently. Also another symptom was the grinding/crunching of my neck, which has stopped also since quitting the Crestor. Could Crestor in fact affected my iron levels?
