Could ET Dysfunction Be The Cause For Hollow Sound In The Ears?

My right ear has a tube in it. I also have ET disfunction. Today suddenly my head began to sound hollow when my teeth click together. I have been diagnosed over last few years with SNHearing loss and also convective hearing loss. I am also on a Chemo pill for non Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic lymphoma. What do you think could have caus d this hollow sound inmy head suddenly happening?

Hello,

A hollow sound is definitely due to ET dysfunction and associated pressure changes.
Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself.
You can do steam inhalation for symptomatic relief.
Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
