Could I Have Developed An Infection Or Sinus Problem From Having Nose Scoped And Swollen Glands?

i had my nose scoped. A couple of hours later I had stuff dripping in my throat it appeared like sticky mucous. The next day my tonsils and my glands were swollen and very hard to swallow. I never had sinus problems, could i have developed an infection or a sinus problem from having my nose scoped?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
Well technically it is possible if the scope was not cleaned properly after being used for another patient.
But it rarely happens. Most doctors take adequate precautions.
Whenever you get any invasive procedures done, you can always ask the doctor regarding the sterile precautions he or she is taking. Most doctors will welcome such questions and also it will put you at ease.
Regards, Dr Kishori.
