Could I Still Be Pregnant Despite Having Spotting Along With Negative UPT?
Hi doctor. Since dec 29 i had a shot of depovera. On march 20 i had a shot of norifam since I wanted to have regular mens. On april 16 I had a menstraitiom. I was suppose to get another shot of norifam for april 25th but I missed it. Yesterday i started to have spotting. I took a pregnancy test early this morning hut it is negatve. Am I pregnant? What medicine can I take to prevent it. Please help
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Depo provera and other progesterone hormone injections lead to side effects like irregular menstruation, spotting and prolonged amenorrhea. If the urine pregnancy test is negative, then the pregnancy is ruled out. However, irregular bleeding can be due to local lesions in the vagina and cervix including cervical cancer. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including pap smear and get properly treated. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
