Could UTI, Yeast Infection And Itching Around Public Hair After Removal Of Uterus And Fallopian Tubes Be Connected?

Hi, I am a 48 yr old female. I had a hysterectomy 2 yrs. Ago. Removal of uterus and fallopian tubes. After the first year I had my first uti. This year I had a yeast infection that took 3 rounds of antibiotics. I am not sure if it s gone. I now have external itching out towards the pubic hair and if any urine touches it the skin burns. Is it time to call my gynecologist again, or just keep trying to keep it clean and dry.

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you keep your perineal area clean and hygienic. Wash your perineal area with V-wash every time you visit the washroom and apply candid ointment over the area of itching.

If it persists even after trying this method for 3-4 days then start tab Fluconazole once in a day for 2 days followed by once in a week for 2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
