Could A Lump Identified During A Mammogram In The Right Breast Be A Sign Of Breast Cancer?
today I had an ultra sound upon my rt breast because my Aug mammogram showed a lump there. They said come back in 6 months for another test. Most of my paternal females had BC. Should I be worried? I am 71 now and all of my first cousins on my paternal side had BC at an early age ,my sister included. She died 2 years with cancer.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In the elderly age group, the presence of a lump in the breast with strong family history suggests most likely breast cancer. A biopsy is needed to confirm it. I suggest you consult a surgical oncologist for more information and good management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Siddartha
