Could A Recent Episode Of Falling And Insulin Pain Be Related To Type 2 Diabetes?
Husband is a diabetic type 2. He got up to get ready for work I was asleep. I heard a loud bang. I asked if he was OK. No response. I jumped up and he was laying down hunched over and I shouted his name several times. He finally responded and said he is OK. He is so stubborn and said he is ok. He takes different supplements and has stated his insulin was kinda hurting when he injected into his stomach.
Type 2 diabetics commonly experience fluctuations in their blood sugar levels in the morning. There is often natural rise in blood sugar levels in the early morning hours. The fluctuations occur commonly when people do not take proper food at night or due to too much insulin.
The type of medication being taken, and the diet being given needs to be monitored on a regular basis in type 2 diabetics. Not having enough insulin or taking too much medication can cause fluctuations & hence falling like happened with your husband. It can be dangerous at times.
This can also occur when blood sugar level drops too low during the night, the body then releases hormones to counteract the low blood sugar, resulting in high blood sugar levels in the morning. Get him clinically examined by his diabetologist and also get connected with a Nutritionist who will make a diet chart so that you can monitor his diet & medicines accordingly. Diabetics need care.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
