I have done a parathyroidectomy one week ago and i am taking now calcium supplement ( 600 mg 3 times a day) in addition to one tablet of the activated form of vitamin D ( One Alpha capsules 0.25mg), but i have recently noticed that the color of the stool has changed to , it is turning white. I will really appreciate if you can help me identify the cause and if it related to the calcium intake. Thank you

Hi,

Yes, it is related to the calcium you take. But as long as you do not have any problem with the stool frequency, you should not worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
