Could Bleeding In The Nose Be Due To Ecosprin And Prax?

I am taking one tab ecosprin 150mg in evening and prax 10 mg (prosugrel 10mg ) in morning after my engioplasty done on 25-06-2014 as advised by doctor but today bleeding occurs through my nose and from mouth .Please advise me whether it is the side effect of aforesaid medicines.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Prasugrel is a platelet inhibitor.Ecosprin is also anti-platelet drug, used after angioplasty. Dual anti-platelet drugs may increase the risk of bleeding. since you are bleeding from nose as well as from mouth you need to stop these drugs for 7 days and then restart only one,preferably ecosprin.
Platelets have a life span of 8 to 10 days normally in body.
