Could Bloating, Gas, Nausea And White Matter In Stools Mean Flared Up Peptic Ulcer?

hi i have been bloaed and gassy , for about three days, feeling nauseaus... i have a peptic ulcer so put it down to a flare up, but today i noticed white rice shaped matter in my faeces, which floated to the surface, i hve never seen this before.......

The white matter in stool seems to be a pinworm,one of the most common parasitic worms in humans from your description which could also be responsible for nausea,bloating,gas trouble.

But it does not indicative of flared up peptic ulcer.

Infection with these parasites are seen commonly in humans who remains unhygienic or when raw human feces used as a fertilizer.

One should undergo complete hemogram and stool examination to confirm the possibility of infestation.

Your family physician will know about the investigations and can prescribe the below treatment.

Tab.zentel (albendazole) which is a antihelminthic drug or ascaricidal drug available only on prescription by qualified doctor.

Although you can ask to the nearby pharmacy if it is available for over the counter or not.

Mostly single dose of zentel 400 mg is required to kill all the parasites but it may be given for 2 to 3 days as per patient requirement.

Moreover, deworming should also been done to family members of the affected individual.
