Could Bulky Uterus With Smooth Echogenic Endometrium In A Test Report Be Due To Signs Of An Early Pregnancy?
Hello, I was diagonised with bulky uerus with smooth echogenic endometrium (13 mm). My sonolgist said it could be early pregnancy however no gestational sac or fluid were seen. My last period date was March 10, these periods were like the usual ones, the flow was very less and lasted for less days than usual. I am waiting on for my Bhcg results. But in the meanwhile I wanted to know could this be early preganancy?
Though there is no clear cut correlation of presence of echogenic endometrium and early pregnancy (Before presence of gestational sac). However, endometrial thickness generally increases with presence of pregnancy, even before the presence of gestational sac on ultrasonic studies & particularly an endometrium thickness of 13 mm is definitely significant in your case. Still, levels of serum HCG are more specific and a Home Pregnancy Test( HPT ) may be more reliable to confirm/rule out the presence of pregnancy in such cases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
