Could Common Cold And Blocked Nose Be The Cause For Blood In Saliva?

When i woke up I spit up saliva no plegm with a little amount of blood mixed. But before that i had a common colds and blocked nose or what do you call it, i didnt take any medicine since it happend but im feeling completely well btw i had PTB on 2016 and im cured now. The incident happend a couple of weeks

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection.

I suggest to take a mucolytic such as Ambroxol for the cough.

I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

The blood in the phlegm is probably due to microtrauma,there is nothing to be worried.
