Could Dark Patch Of Pigmentation And Pimples Be Related To Thyroid?
Hi, My wife is having dark patch of pigmentation on her cheeks & forehead for the past several years. First she tried with many dermo creams & finally settled to depiwhite at night for the past 2 years & UV AVO cream during day for the past one year. For the past 3 to 4 months she started getting pimples also. Now we went to a dermatologist & he advised Retino AC for pimples & A Ret-HC for dark patches. He also suggested DOXY-1 capsules. Also Dr. advised us to consult gynecologist & get some thyroid tests and pelvic ultrasonic done. I am serious about this now as she is skipping social functions due to this. Pl advice, am I going on the right track or not. If not what is the other alternative?
Your wife suffers from acne vulgaris and melasma. Your doctor is going in right tract.
He has given proper medicines. And he has rightly advised to consult gynaecologist to rule out PCOD. And thyroid function tests should be done to rule out thyroid disease.
Continue the same medicines for long time. Tranexamic acid tablet may be added for the melasma. Cleanse the face with face wash containing glycolic acid. Apply Kojic acid-containing gel on the melasma patches.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
