my lmp was 10th oct. 2012 .had a positive hpt and blood test with 71 hcg on 7th nov. 2012 i.e. in 4th week. my gynaec has prescribed me duphaston from 8th nov. till now. and i have still not got my periods..is missed period due to prgnancy or it could be duphaston giving false hope of continued pregnancy by delaying periods?. i m 28 years old. 5.3 hieght and 52 kg weight. thank you

Hi

At 4 weeks gestation, Hcg levels can be 5 - 426 mIU/ml. Hcg levels should be tested again to see if any rise in the levels occur.Any decrease in levels or very slow increase should be noted.

When there is a decline in the level of hCG from the first test to the second test, this often means a miscarriage may take place, also known as impending miscarriage.

I would suggest you to take Hcg again, continue duphaston and also consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
