Could Drug Toxicity Be The Cause For Elevation In Liver Enzymes?

hi actually iam not pt, iam resident in cardiology department in regional hospital in libya, and when i saw ask specialist i just would like to take your opinion regarding one case in our hospital we have pt 65yrs old female pt, known case of IDCMP 1 yr back, admitted before 2 days complaining of recurrent vomiting 4 days before admission not responding to simple medication. by continuous evaluation and monitoring liver enzymes started to be elevated ALT,AST upto 60000 IU/l which is 100 times double the normal range alk. phosphatase upto 600mg/dl LDH upto 20.000mg/dl otherwwise all invx within normal we suspect drug toxicity as a cause of this problem can u give me some sugggesion and opinion regarding this complicating case

Hello,

As long as all the invx are within normal, including the viral markers, I can suspect a BUDD CHIARI syndrome..This pt need an ERCP.
